  About Us

The History

Top Notch Training has been in business since 2007. We began offering
IN-HOME personal training services across areas of the South Shore and
Metro West, Massachusetts. Due to the high demand and popularity of our services, we decided it was time to find a physical location during the
summer of 2008. Our first location was just 600 sq ft, located within a
health and wellness center in Dedham, Ma. Just two short years later, our
business grew enough for a second move. This time it would be into our
current location, a 4,000 sq ft facility in Westwood, Ma.

Present Day
Top Notch Training is privately owned and operated. We offer one on one
personal training services, nutritional guidance, life coaching and various classes. We are the only personal training studio to offer everything in one place! We strongly believe it’s important to build a strong foundation and that starts at the route of the problem. With personal training, nutrition and life coaching, we are able to help everyone who walks in the door. Give us a chance to showcase our services!

Our main goal is to achieve greatness with each and every client. We provide everything necessary for our clientele to achieve their goals. We’re able to do this by working on an appointment-only based schedule, giving our clients 100% attention throughout their training sessions. We fully
customize our clients’ training and nutritional programs as deemed
necessary, as everybody has different needs.

Our 4,000 sq ft facility hosts 3 semi-private training suites, an indoor
turf field, 6-piece cardio area, aerobics studio, 2 bathrooms w/ shower
and more! Come check us out.

Lauren Koenig-Plonskier, E-Ryt, CRP Yoga Instruction

I believe that what we do on our mat is a direct reflection of how we walk through the world. We come to class and search not only for physical strength, flexibility, ease for tight and sore bodies and challenges of asanas (postures), but for connection to ourselves and those around us. I am an E-Ryt certified yoga teacher as well as a certified Usui Reiki practitioner. My teaching style stems from the desire to help others connect to their truth in the moment.

When I teach, I often encourage my students to close their eyes and notice. Notice your body; does it feel acute pain, deep opening, intensity, release or relaxation? Notice you mind; does it race with many thoughts all rapidly swirling, does it harp on one particular thought intensely or is it calm and focused on each inhale and exhale? Too often, we walk through the world with our other senses on high, and our sense of feeling on mute. Reiki and Yoga share the firm belief that the way forward is through breaking through to our true sensations and answering the question not only of ‘how do I feel?’, but of ‘how can I feel better?’

Some days this means deep openers to relieve sciatica or tight shoulders from sitting at a desk or behind the wheel of a car. Some days this means challenging asanas (postures) that allow us to play with the edges of our balance, strength and gravity-defying prowess. Most days, it’s somewhere in between. Always, we hope that what we do on our mat is a response to what we need.

I believe that yoga meets us where we are and if we can listen to ourselves, yoga will always be there. Whatever you are looking for, your mat is waiting at the ready. I come to my mat again and again for the challenge that awaits, the nurturing of feeling better in every sense, and the fun of finding just what I need.
